Ballad of Arthur MacAll

A sepia image of Arthur MacAll
Hangs in a frame on an art house wall
Posing so still, so carefree
Noose around his neck, hanging in a tree
There’s nothing to tell the reason why
It’s so photogenic, the way men die
Some might say art imitates death
A bowl of fresh fruit, or a guy’s last breath
Don’t mean nothing to Arthur MacAll
Don’t mean a thing to Arthur MacAll
